2007 International Fulbright Science & Technology Award for Ph. D. Study in the U.S. Announced

NEW DELHI -- The United States Educational Foundation in India (USEFI) has announced the 2007 International Fulbright Science and Technology Award for Ph.D. study in science, technology, or engineering at top U.S. institutions.
This new award is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and is designed to be the most prestigious international scholarship in science and technology.
The International Fulbright Science and Technology Award reaffirms competitiveness of the U.S. in the fields of science, technology, and engineering, as the U.S. remains the most attractive destination for serious scientific and technological research and study. The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State will fully fund grants for up to three years under this program.
In the first year of this program, approximately 25 awards will be offered worldwide for candidates who demonstrate unique aptitude and innovation in scientific fields. Eligible fields of study include Aeronautics and Astronomics/Aeronautical Engineering, Astronomy/Planetary Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences/Engineering, Engineering (electrical, chemical, civil, mechanical, ocean, and petroleum), Environmental Science/Engineering, Geology/Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Information Sciences/Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Neuroscience/Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Oceanography and Physics.
USEFI invites applications from outstanding Indian students. USEFI will forward two nominations to compete with candidates from all over the world for this fellowship. Application deadline is July 31, 2006. Details are available at USEFI’s offices, or on its website www.fulbright-india.org.
