Marriage, Divorce and Legal Matters

Marriage

American diplomatic officers no longer have legal authority to perform marriages. However, information on Indian marriage requirements are available at American Citizen Services Office.



Divorce and Other Legal Matters

The ACS unit maintains a List of Attorneys authorized to practice in the consular district of Kolkata. Consular officers are not permitted, however, to advise citizens on a particular legal matter.
